Most of people have called Lebanon Cedar of God, Heyday of Switzerland, and Paris of the Middle East. Lebanon is located in the east shore of the Mediterranean Sea. This country is very rich in education, culture and tourism. The famous touristic place in Lebanon is Beirut which is the main capital of Lebanon. You may ask why this country is so famous of tourism even though they have several problems in finances and wars. The main reason is because My Beautiful Lebanon involved in and participated in several festivals or celebrations such as:
2009 European Cup, 2009 Jeux de la Francophonie, 2000 Rugby League World Cup
(They participated in a lot sport celebrations because they have the same interests in Basket Ball and Rugby like in The USA)
The national Flag of Lebanon:
Red Stripes represent Blood
White represents snow on the mountains.
Tree symbolizes A Cedar Tree – survival.
Tolerance and equality are the basic foundation for politics in Lebanon. It is because they have many religions, and they want everyone to have the same treatments. So you will find a unique method about how they choose their leaders. For example: if the president is Christian, then the vice president should be someone who has the different religion from Shia Muslim or Sunni Muslim. Lebanon’s economic is affected by Climate. They have the Mediterranean climate. Therefore, people depend on agricultural and tourism.
The language that they are used to is Arabic, but you might find in some areas, they will speak French languages. For example: French music will be played on air in radio. When they publish newspapers or something about arts, they usually cooperate with Cairo because they think that Cairo is the modern Arab thought.
